ABOUT US

Established under the directive of the Lieutenant Governor on the 6th of October, 1995, the Ridge Management Board (RMB) was constituted in response to the Hon'ble Supreme Court's instructions in the landmark M.C. Mehta case. This seven-member, non-statutory body, includes representatives from the Government, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). It was specifically created to safeguard and rejuvenate the Ridge forest, an ecological asset of Delhi, often referred to as the city's green lungs.

The RMB is chaired by the Chief Secretary of Delhi and comprises esteemed members including the Vice-Chairman of DDA, Secretaries of Environment and Forests, and Finance of Delhi, the Conservator of Forests, along with representatives from two distinguished NGOs. The Head of Department of Forest and Wildlife serves as the Member Secretary, ensuring the board's operations are meticulously managed.
